Minimum 1,000,000 tokens, whole tokens only. Your tokens are locked in the bridge vault and the Rune is sent to your Bitcoin address, usually within 30 minutes; Sigil pays the Bitcoin fee. Use a wallet that supports Runes. Requests that can't be sent (wrong address, below the minimum) are refunded automatically.
Custodial bridge: the Runes are held by a single Bitcoin key operated by Sigil. Check the backing on the proof of reserves.
Runes are fungible tokens issued natively on Bitcoin, secured by the Bitcoin network — no sidechains or wrapping. Sigil etches a real Rune for every coin.
Bitcoin's ~10-minute blocks and lack of always-on liquidity make Runes impractical for fast trading. Ethereum provides the liquidity and speed: every coin trades in a Uniswap pool against WBTC, while the Rune lives on Bitcoin.
At launch the whole supply goes into a Uniswap V4 pool against WBTC, starting at about a $4K market cap. There is no graduation step: the coin trades on Uniswap from the first second, and the liquidity position is held by the launch contract with no way to withdraw it — locked forever.
An Ethereum wallet (MetaMask) on Ethereum mainnet to trade and launch. To hold the native Rune on Bitcoin, a Bitcoin wallet like Xverse or UniSat, then bridge your coins from the coin's page.

At launch, Sigil etches the coin's full 1,000,000,000 supply as a Rune on Bitcoin and sends all of it to the custody address above. Each token on Ethereum is matched by one Rune unit held there. When a holder bridges to Bitcoin, their tokens are locked in the vault and the Rune leaves custody; bridging back does the reverse, so the two always match.
The custody is a single Bitcoin key operated by Sigil. A move to a 2-of-2 address (Sigil and an independent co-signer) is planned.
Sigil is a hybrid launchpad: every coin is a real Bitcoin Rune that trades at Ethereum speed with instant liquidity. It solves a core limitation of Runes — Bitcoin's ~10-minute blocks and lack of always-on liquidity make them impractical for memecoin-style trading. Sigil issues the coin as a real Rune on Bitcoin and trades it on Ethereum.
Every coin has a fixed supply of 1,000,000,000, mint revoked, metadata locked. The full supply is etched on Bitcoin and held in Sigil's Bitcoin custody, backing the Ethereum token 1:1 (proof of reserves).
Runes are Bitcoin's native fungible-token standard — secured by Bitcoin, no sidechains, no wrapping. But Bitcoin wasn't built for high-frequency trading: confirmations take minutes to an hour, fees spike under load, and there are no always-liquid AMM pools, so selling a Rune means listing it and waiting for a buyer.
Memecoins need instant price discovery, continuous liquidity and fast entry/exit. Sigil keeps the Rune native on Bitcoin and moves the trading to Ethereum, where a Uniswap pool against WBTC provides liquidity from the first second.
Use MetaMask on Ethereum mainnet. Your wallet is your account — no sign-up.
Add ETH to your wallet to pay for trades and Ethereum gas.
Head to Create a rune to launch, or Explore to buy and sell existing runes.
To trade and launch on Ethereum you need an Ethereum wallet (MetaMask) on Ethereum mainnet, funded with ETH. To hold the native Rune on Bitcoin, bridge it from the coin's page to a Bitcoin wallet that supports Runes, such as Xverse or UniSat. Sigil pays the Bitcoin fee when you bridge to Bitcoin; sending a Rune back needs a few sats in your Bitcoin wallet.
Pick a name, ticker and image, write a description, choose how creator fees flow, and approve one transaction. The coin goes live immediately in its own Uniswap V4 pool against WBTC. An optional dev buy becomes the coin's first trade, in the same transaction, so nobody can front-run you.
A few blocks later, Sigil etches the identical coin as a real Rune on Bitcoin, with your image inscribed on-chain and the full supply held in custody. Its Rune ID then appears on the coin's page.
Every new coin trades on Uniswap V4 against WBTC. On Sigil you pay and receive ETH: each trade routes ETH ↔ WBTC ↔ coin in one transaction, with a live quote from Uniswap and your slippage tolerance (0.1% / 0.5% / 1%). Any Uniswap-compatible app or aggregator can trade the coin too.
SIGIL GENESIS ($GEN), the first coin, launched on the earlier ETH bonding curve and keeps trading there.
Fixed supply of 1,000,000,000. At launch the whole supply is deposited as a single-sided Uniswap V4 position against WBTC, starting at about a $4K market cap. Nobody seeds WBTC: buyers bring it, so the price rises as people buy and falls as they sell — like a bonding curve, but on Uniswap from the first second.
The position is held by the launch contract, which has no function to withdraw it: the liquidity is locked forever. Some trading bots only count the WBTC side, so they show a small "liquidity" figure at launch that grows with every buy.
Each trade pays a 1% fee in WBTC, taken by the Sigil hook on the WBTC side of every buy and sell, and split 50/50: 0.5% to the creator and 0.5% to the platform. The creator share is claimable anytime on the coin's page, or routed to an X account whose owner claims it on the Claim page.
In holders mode, the creator share goes to the coin's holders instead, in WBTC, pro rata to their balance. It accrues on every trade and is paid automatically each time a holder buys, sells or transfers the coin — or anytime with the claim button on the coin's page. The pool's liquidity is excluded. Each coin keeps the split set at its launch.
Runes live in ordinary Bitcoin outputs and are secured by Bitcoin's network — no sidechains or wrapping. Sigil etches each coin as a real Rune via a commit/reveal pair of transactions, inscribing your image alongside it. The full supply is premined into Sigil's Bitcoin custody address, which backs the circulating Ethereum tokens 1:1.
On Bitcoin, a Rune gets a unique identifier of the form block:tx (the block height and transaction index of its etching) — the equivalent of a contract address. Everyone still sees your human-readable name and ticker; the Rune ID is the immutable on-chain identity. Rune names use A–Z only, which is why launch names are restricted to letters and spaces.
Holders move coins 1:1 between Ethereum and Bitcoin from the Bridge box on each coin's page.
Ethereum → Bitcoin. Enter your Bitcoin address and an amount (minimum 1,000,000 tokens). Your tokens are locked in the bridge vault and the Rune is sent from Sigil's custody to your address, usually within 30 minutes. Sigil pays the Bitcoin fee. A request that can't be sent (invalid address, below the minimum) is refunded to your Ethereum wallet.
Bitcoin → Ethereum. The bridge shows a deposit address tied to your Ethereum wallet. Send the Rune there; after 3 Bitcoin confirmations, the same amount of tokens is released from the vault to your wallet and the Rune joins the custody.
Every request and its Bitcoin transaction are public, and the totals are on the proof of reserves.
Every coin's backing is public: the Rune supply sits at Sigil's Bitcoin custody address, and the circulating supply trades on Ethereum. Open any coin to check its Rune ID on a Bitcoin explorer and its contracts on Etherscan, or see them all on the Verify page.
Custody note: the bridge is custodial. The Bitcoin custody is held by a single key operated by Sigil; a move to 2-of-2 custody (Sigil and an independent co-signer) is planned. The proof of reserves is live on the Verify page.

All fees are paid in WBTC. Earlier coins keep their launch terms: $SWG and $FOURK (Uniswap V3, 20/80 split, fees in WBTC and in the coin) and $GEN (ETH curve, 0.25% creator · 1% platform).
Launching is free apart from Ethereum gas. Sigil pays the Bitcoin etching cost.
$SIGIL is the platform token. Today, platform fees from Uniswap V4 and V3 coins go to the Sigil team wallet in WBTC; only fees from the legacy ETH-curve coin $GEN are split on-chain by the FeeSplitter (25% buyback and burn, 50% holder rewards, 25% treasury), and no buyback or reward round has run yet. Routing every coin's platform fees into buybacks and rewards is planned and will be announced when the contract is live. Track it on the Buyback and Rewards pages. Fixed supply, burnable, mint revoked.
On Ethereum each coin is a standard ERC-20 with 18 decimals and a fixed 1,000,000,000 supply minted once into its Uniswap pool; mint authority is revoked and metadata (name, ticker, image, description) is locked at launch. On Bitcoin it is a Rune with 8 decimals of divisibility. The bridge keeps the two 1:1 (amounts bridge in whole tokens).
The contracts use audited OpenZeppelin building blocks (ERC-20, Ownable2Step, Pausable, ReentrancyGuard) and ship with a full test suite including fuzzing. The contracts have not been professionally audited — use at your own risk. All contracts and coins are verified on Etherscan and Sourcify. The bridge is custodial: the Bitcoin custody is a single key operated by Sigil, and its reserves are published live on the Verify page. A move to 2-of-2 custody is planned.
There is no separate REST API — all data is read directly from the chain. The factory exposes launchCount() and launches(i); each coin exposes name/symbol/runeId/imageURI/description; new coins live in the Uniswap V4 PoolManager: poolIdOf(token) on the Sigil hook gives the PoolId, Uniswap's StateView getSlot0(poolId) the price, and the PoolManager emits Swap events indexed by PoolId; coinInfo(token) returns the fee split and claimable creator fees. Trade programmatically through SigilV4Router (buy, sell, quoteV4). Point any Ethereum RPC at the contracts (addresses in the project's DEPLOYED.md) to build on top.
Yes. After launch each coin is automatically etched on Bitcoin — a commit then a reveal transaction — and its Rune ID appears on the coin's page once the reveal confirms (a few blocks later). The full Rune supply is held in Sigil's Bitcoin custody. You can watch the live etching status on any freshly launched coin.
Ethereum has the deepest liquidity and the most wallets. Each trade pays Ethereum gas; a production build could use an L2 for cheaper trades with the same contracts.
Only gas. Sigil covers the Bitcoin etching fee.
Yes — Sigil runs on Ethereum mainnet and Bitcoin. Trades use real ETH and are irreversible. Memecoins are highly speculative: only use what you can afford to lose.

Sigil is an experimental, open-source prototype running on Ethereum mainnet and Bitcoin. It is provided "as is", with no warranty of any kind. The smart contracts have not been professionally audited.
Tokens launched on Sigil are highly speculative and may lose all their value. Nothing here is an offer, solicitation or financial advice.
You interact with the smart contracts directly through your own wallet. You are responsible for your keys and your transactions. On-chain actions are irreversible.
Smart contracts carry risk. The contracts have not been professionally audited, and the bridge is custodial: the Bitcoin custody is held by a single key operated by Sigil. Only use funds you can afford to lose.

Anyone who launches or trades through your link is tagged to you. A share of the platform fees they generate is paid to your wallet.
Note: referral payouts are not active yet. For now the link is generated and tracked client-side only.
Sigil has no accounts and no sign-up: your wallet address is your identity. The app reads public blockchain data and does not collect personal information.
The page talks to a public Ethereum RPC endpoint to read on-chain data, fetches an ETH/USD rate from a public price API for display, and loads fonts and libraries from public CDNs. A remembered filter or similar convenience may be kept in your browser's local storage, on your device only.
Any transaction you make — launching, trading, bridging — is recorded publicly on the blockchain and is outside Sigil's control.
